Following on from several conferences organised in recent years by the Institute for Research in European Languages and Literatures at the University of Haute-Alsace – “Amitiés vives”: friendship in writers’ correspondence (14–15 May 2020), “Enmity in Writers’ Correspondence” (25–26 November 2021) – we will focus more specifically on expressions of friendship in these correspondences linking men and women of letters with statesmen and stateswomen.
