Read, edit, play – Dina’s rape today
Hervé Guibert’s library
To mark the fiftieth anniversary of the publication of *La Mort propagande* (1977), the first book
by Hervé Guibert, and the fiftieth anniversary of his joining *Le Monde* as a literary critic, the Institute for
Research in European Languages and Literatures (ILLE) at the University of Mulhouse wishes to offer, during
these study days, a reflection on the influences, sources and networks of references that
shape the work of a writer whose practice has constantly moved between literature, photography,
journalism and art criticism.

Blancandin and “L’Orgueilleuse d’Amour” and their audiences: textual circulation, linguistic transfer and genre contact.
“Blancandin et l’Orgueilleuse d’Amour”, an anonymous verse novel written in the langue d’oïl during the early decades of the 13th century, is a work of mixed character, which no doubt explains the limited critical interest it has attracted.
An ‘adventure novel’ that is not set at King Arthur’s court but draws on episodes from the novels of Chrétien de Troyes in particular; a tale of romantic conquest whose plot is interwoven with military episodes, the text is the result of a variety of influences.
