This collection brings together leading scholars in the two fields favored by her in her long career. These are Jewish identity(languages, literatures, and cultures) and comparative studies (relations between cultures, literatures, and languages, whether Jewish or not). Among topics addressed are Jewish languages and cultures (Yiddish, Hebrew, Judezmo, Shuadit, Italkian), linguistics and literatures of other languages, fine arts and music, history and philosophy, with, in appendix, several new historical documents.
